About Mickleover Padel Club

Mickleover Padel Club brings dedicated padel to the western edge of Derby, sitting inside the Don Amott Arena home of Mickleover FC at Station Road, Mickleover, Derby DE3 9FB. The club opened in late 2025 as Mickleover Padel Ltd, taking a corner of the football ground and converting it into a four-court padel venue.

The catchment covers Mickleover, Mackworth, Littleover and the wider DE3 area. The site sits a short drive from the A38 and A516, putting Burton, Ashbourne and central Derby roughly fifteen minutes away.

Free on-site parking, a clubhouse bar shared with Mickleover FC, vending, WiFi and an open chillout area make it a comfortable place to land between matches. Founders describe the project as building Mickleover’s first padel community, with social play prioritised.

The padel courts

The four courts were supplied and installed by TM Padel using their TM Panoramic specification - full 20m by 10m playing area with glass back walls, panoramic side glass and a black RAL 9005 MTX frame finish.

The playing surface is ACT Sports Score blue monofilament turf, a quick-paced carpet that suits attacking, volley-led padel. Each court is lit by Filux 200W FT-21200 LED units on V-shaped poles, eight per court, giving even floodlighting for evening sessions.

The courts are outdoor and uncovered to the sky, with stainless A4 hardware and a primer treatment rated for British weather. Layout puts two pairs of courts side by side, easy to combine for round-robins and club nights.

Booking and access at Mickleover padel

All courts at Mickleover Padel Club are booked online through Playtomic, with 60 and 90 minute slots most common. Live rates show at the booking step on Playtomic and vary by peak and off-peak windows.

Off-peak weekday daytime slots are the most affordable. Cancellation rules and any rolling credit packs are surfaced inside the Playtomic flow at the point of payment, so members can compare options before confirming.

Opening hours are 07:00 to 22:30 Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 21:00 Saturday and Sunday, so early starts before work and late evening doubles both fit.

For questions outside the booking app you can call 07517 803572 or message the team via their website or Facebook page. Free parking sits next to the courts and entry is via the Mickleover FC car park off Station Road.

Programme and social padel

The club runs regular Americano and mix-in nights designed for the Playtomic 0 to 7 rating range, so newer players and stronger doubles teams both have a route in.

Introductory sessions appear from around 5 GBP and social slots from around 10 GBP, with periodic open-day tournaments published through the mailing list and the Mickleover Padel Club Facebook page.

Coaching is delivered in partnership with local pros - group sessions for adults and a pathway for juniors are run alongside booking. See the coaching tab for tier pricing and the latest course dates.

The shared Mickleover FC clubhouse means a proper bar and food service after matches, which keeps social leagues lively well past the last court slot.

Best for

Mickleover Padel Club suits Derby-based players who want a four-court outdoor venue with proper TM kit on their doorstep, league-curious doubles pairs, and Mickleover FC community members looking for a winter racket sport.

The Americano nights and structured intro slots make it a strong pick for total beginners. It is less suited to players who specifically want fully enclosed indoor courts year round - the four courts here are outdoor under floodlight, so heavy rain days can affect play.

City-centre players closer to the Derbion shopping quarter may also prefer a venue without the short drive west to DE3, but for everyone west of the A38 this is the natural padel home.
