About VIVA Padel & Pickleball
VIVA Padel & Pickleball is a dedicated outdoor padel club at 1300 N 8th St, Philadelphia, PA 19122. The 30,000 sq ft venue sits on a converted SEPTA depot lot in North Philadelphia, near Temple University.
The club opened in June 2025 as Philly’s first purpose-built padel destination. It was founded by Drexel University men’s tennis coach Mehdi Rhazali, with co-founders Kai Lee and Andrew Eisenstein. Visit the VIVA Padel & Pickleball website for current schedules.
The site sits one block east of N Broad Street and is easily reached from I-676, I-95, and the Vine Street Expressway. SEPTA’s Spring Garden and Girard stations are short rides away, making this a transit-friendly spot for padel in Philadelphia.
The padel courts
VIVA Padel & Pickleball runs four professional-grade outdoor padel courts with full glass back walls and side panels for authentic rebound play. The courts share the elevated 30,000 sq ft platform with four pickleball courts, with separation so doubles padel matches run without cross-court interference.
All four padel courts are floodlit for evening sessions, with play from early morning through late evening seven days a week. The surface is synthetic turf, picked for consistent bounce in Philadelphia’s variable weather. Players should bring layers in shoulder seasons since the courts are fully open to the sky.
Booking and access
Court bookings run through the club’s Play by Point system and the VIVA mobile app on iOS and Android. Live availability and pricing show at the booking step - reserve a court here.
Non-member rates for padel appear at $25 per person off-peak (weekdays 7am to 4pm) and $35 per person peak (weekday evenings 4pm to 9:30pm and all weekend). Members receive 50% off standard rates, and prepaid credit packs are available through the membership portal.
Opening hours are 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM Monday through Saturday, and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday. Friday opens at 10:00 AM per the Google Business profile. Free on-site parking is available and the entry is wheelchair accessible.
Contact the club at (215) 836-5585 or info@vivapadelpickleball.com for private events, corporate hire, group bookings, and team building sessions. Walk-in players can call ahead to check court availability before traveling across town, and out-of-area visitors can buy day passes through the Play by Point portal.
Padel programme and social
VIVA runs six membership tiers spanning roughly $50 to $400 per month, with discounts for students, juniors, seniors, first responders, nurses, teachers, and coaching staff. Couples and family options sit alongside individual plans, and members get priority court access plus pro shop credit.
The club programmes private lessons, junior development clinics, and structured group clinics for beginner through high-intermediate levels. Head coach Mehdi Rhazali previously led the rackets programme at Germantown Cricket Club. See the coaching tab for tier pricing.
Open-play sessions, themed social events, and two annual tournaments round out the calendar. Members can match with similarly rated opponents through the booking app’s rated-play system, which keeps drop-in games competitive.
The venue includes a viewing and lounge area, modern showers, restrooms, and a pro shop housed in a vintage Airstream Overlander trailer. The shop sells rackets, balls, and apparel, with rental rackets available at the desk.
Best for
VIVA Padel & Pickleball suits Center City, Fishtown, and Temple-area players wanting a transit-accessible outdoor padel club with proper glass courts and a coaching pathway rather than a casual pop-up. Open-play members and junior families benefit from the structured clinics and rated match system.
It is less suited to players seeking year-round indoor padel, since the courts are outdoor and exposed to Philadelphia winters and summer storms. Players outside North Philly should also check the sister Flourtown location, which adds five further padel courts under the same VIVA brand.
