About Holcombe Brook Sports Club

Holcombe Brook Sports Club is a tennis and padel club at Hazel Hall Lane, Off Longsight Road, Holcombe Brook, Bury BL0 9FS, UK. It has two covered, floodlit padel courts built to a panoramic specification, open from 8am to 10pm every day and bookable on Playtomic.

The padel courts opened in July 2026 at an established tennis club with eight all-weather tennis courts, a function room and a fitness timetable. Padel players share the clubhouse, the bar and lounge and the outdoor terrace overlooking Holcombe Hill, and non-members are always welcome.

The padel courts

Holcombe Brook Sports Club has two outdoor padel courts, both under a cover, so a booking is far less at the mercy of the weather than on an open court. Both courts are floodlit, which keeps them playable on dark winter evenings right up to closing time.

The courts are built to a panoramic specification, the modern build that gives players and anyone watching a clear view of the rally. The courts were built from February 2026 and were ready for play that July, giving the club a second racket sport alongside its tennis.

Each court carries a sponsor. Court 1 is sponsored by Fuse Collective and Court 2 by Summize. There is a changing room at the club, and the bar and lounge sit close by for a drink or a coffee after the game.

Booking and access

All court bookings at Holcombe Brook Sports Club run through Playtomic, and the public can book alongside club members. The courts are open from 8am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday. Prices are per court, so the cost is shared between the players on court.

Off-peak, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm: £20 for 60 minutes, £30 for 90 minutes. Peak, Monday to Friday 5pm to 10pm: £38 for 60 minutes, £57 for 90 minutes.

Weekend, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 6pm: £38 for 60 minutes, £57 for 90 minutes. Weekend evening, Saturday and Sunday 6pm to 10pm: £32 for 60 minutes, £48 for 90 minutes.

Padel courts start from £38 per court per hour at peak, which works out at £9.50 per person when four players share the court. The weekday off-peak rate of £20 an hour is the cheapest way to play.

Senior, Veteran and Under-26 members of the club get a 14-day priority booking window and 10% off all off-peak court hires. Members can also book peak evening slots ahead of the public, so non-members looking for an evening game should book as early as they can.

Rackets can be rented as an add-on when you book on Playtomic, and free used balls can be added to the session at the same time. New rackets and balls are also on sale at the club for players who want their own kit.

There is ample free parking at the club. For anything the booking app does not cover, see the club padel page, call the club on +44 1204 882313 or email hbsctennis@gmail.com.

Padel programme and social

Intro sessions: when the courts opened, Holcombe Brook Sports Club announced introductory sessions for players looking to get started with padel, with equipment available to hire or buy. They are a good first step for tennis members and newcomers alike.

The bar and lounge were renovated in 2021 and open onto an outdoor terrace overlooking Holcombe Hill. The bar is open on weekday evenings in spring and summer and on Saturday daytime, and non-members are always welcome.

When the bar is closed there is a self-service coffee machine and a vending machine. The club also runs Friday food nights, and complimentary WiFi is available in the lounge for anyone waiting on a court.

Best for

Beginners: everyone is welcome at Holcombe Brook, whether experienced or completely new to padel. Racket rental, free used balls and the introductory sessions make it an easy place to try the game. Our beginner’s guide to padel in the UK covers the basics.

Evening and weekday players: the courts are covered and floodlit, so a game after work holds up through wet weather and dark nights. Weekday off-peak slots before 5pm are the best value, and weekend evenings after 6pm cost less than weekend daytime.

Tennis players crossing over: the club already runs tennis on eight all-weather courts, so padel sits alongside an existing tennis community with a bar, terrace and clubhouse to share. New players can learn the rules in our padel rules guide.
