Eight questions, about two minutes. Get an approximate Playtomic, MATCHi, LTA Padel and FIP equivalent so you can find players at the right level for your next session. Take the quiz once, take it again in six weeks - the gap between the two results is a useful measure of how far your game has come.

Approximate only. This quiz gives a starting estimate. Your verified rating on any platform depends on real match results - especially Playtomic and MATCHi, which adjust after every recorded game. Use this to find players at roughly your level, not as a tournament seed.
Each of the eight questions scores from 0 to 4 based on your answer. The total (0 to 32) maps to one of six skill bands - pure beginner, beginner, intermediate, strong intermediate, advanced or elite. The band then maps to approximate ranges on the four major rating systems used in international padel.
The questions are deliberately about capability rather than results. A player who wins their club box league but cannot reliably hit a bandeja under match pressure ranks differently from a player who hits a bandeja consistently but is new to competitive matches. The quiz balances both dimensions.
What the result is and is not
The result is a starting estimate, useful for filtering matchmaking on Playtomic or MATCHi, picking the right club box league, or knowing whether a coaching session should focus on fundamentals or tactics. Two minutes of self-assessment is enough to put most players inside one band of their verified rating.
The result is not your verified rating. Playtomic and MATCHi adjust your level after every recorded match, weighted by win-loss against rated opponents. LTA Padel ratings are set by certified coaches and tournament play. FIP world rankings only apply to pro players with sanctioned tournament results.
None of those four can be replaced by a self-test. Use the quiz to position yourself, then play and let the platforms calibrate.
Intermediate result: work on positioning - the diamond formation and pair movement covered in our positioning guide is the biggest lever between intermediate and strong intermediate.
Strong intermediate or advanced: the serve guide with FIP 2026 rule changes and the full levels guide with rating-system detail are the next reads.
Elite result: the gap between elite-by-self-assessment and FIP-ranked is the gap between confident club play and CUPRA FIP Tour entry points - the CUPRA FIP Tour page explains how that pathway works.

Each rating system is maintained by a different platform or federation. The verified rating that actually drives your matchmaking is the one on the platform your local clubs use. Start with the one most active in your area.
The largest padel booking + matchmaking app worldwide. Dominant in Spain, UK and the Middle East. Your level adjusts after every recorded match.
Most players land within one band of their verified Playtomic or LTA Padel rating after answering honestly. Self-assessment quizzes have known biases - players in their first six months tend to under-rate, players in their third year tend to over-rate - so be generous with yourself when new, conservative when experienced.
How long does the quiz take?
About two minutes. There are eight questions, each with five options. You can navigate back to change answers before seeing the result. The quiz does not save your answers between sessions - take it again any time to see how your game has changed.
Which platform should I trust for my real rating?
The platform you actually play on. Playtomic adjusts your level after every recorded match. MATCHi works similarly. LTA Padel ratings reflect UK tournament results and coach assessments. The "true" rating is the one your local matchmaking uses - the others are useful comparisons but secondary to wherever you book your courts.
Can the quiz be used for tournament seeding?
No. Tournament seeding uses verified ratings - LTA Padel for UK events, FIP world ranking for international, or platform-verified Playtomic/MATCHi for club tournaments. The self-test gives an approximate position only, not a seedable rating. Do not submit quiz results as proof of level for any tournament entry.
What if I get a different result the second time I take it?
That is normal and useful. Self-assessment is calibrated by experience - the first time you take it, you may be optimistic or pessimistic. The second time, six weeks later, your answers reflect both your improved game and a more grounded self-assessment. The trend between two results is more informative than either single result.
Do the rating systems officially convert?
No. Playtomic, MATCHi, LTA Padel and FIP world ranking are all maintained independently and none publishes an official conversion. Our quiz uses the published descriptor bands for each system to produce an unofficial cross-system estimate. Treat the four numbers as parallel approximations rather than convertible scores.
