About The Hive London
The Hive London is a 12-acre multi-sport complex on Camrose Avenue, Edgware, London HA8 6AG, home to Barnet Football Club and one of north-west London’s largest community sports venues. You can read more on the official The Hive London padel page.
The site sits a five-minute walk from Canons Park station on the Jubilee line and is reached easily from the A5, A41 and M1 (Junction 4), with free on-site parking and step-free access throughout. Padel was added in 2024 with three new courts - the first dedicated padel facility in the London Borough of Harrow.
The padel courts
The Hive has three full-size outdoor panoramic doubles courts, listed on Playtomic as Padel 1, Padel 2 and Padel 3. The all-glass back walls and low side panels give clean sightlines from every angle, which suits casual play and competitive matches alike.
Surfaces are synthetic turf with sand infill to Spanish spec, and the courts are floodlit for evening play through to 11pm. Because the courts are uncovered, weather plays a part - sessions may be cancelled in heavy rain, with refunds handled through Playtomic. Racket and ball hire is available from the on-site shop.
Booking and access
Court bookings run exclusively through Playtomic. You can book a court at The Hive London on Playtomic via web or the iOS and Android apps. Off-peak slots (Mon-Fri 7am-6pm) are £48 per court per 90 minutes, or about £12 per person for a doubles game.
Peak slots (Mon-Fri 6pm-11pm plus all day Saturday and Sunday) are £68 per court, or about £17 per person. Live rates show at the booking step on Playtomic. The courts open at 7am and the last bookable slot finishes at 11pm, every day of the week.
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before your slot through Playtomic; later than that, the standard tenant policy applies. For general enquiries the sports team can be reached on +44 20 8381 3800 or by email at otew@thehivelondon.com. Parking is free for court users on the main car park directly outside the padel area.
Programme and social padel
The Hive runs a mix of social play and beginner-friendly sessions through Playtomic’s open match system, where you can post a slot and let the platform fill the remaining spots by level. Large group bookings can also be arranged through the events team on request.
The on-site Starbucks and fully stocked Hive Bar - both overlooking the main football pitch - make this a natural place to stay on after a match. Coaching is offered through visiting professionals rather than a permanent in-house team; current rates and availability are confirmed on request via otew@thehivelondon.com.
The wider complex hosts an on-site gym, FIFA Pro 2-star football pitches, function rooms and a pro shop. Padel sits inside a busy seven-day-a-week sports campus rather than a standalone club, which gives a livelier atmosphere than most dedicated padel venues.
Best for padel in London
The Hive London is a strong fit for players in Harrow, Edgware, Stanmore, Mill Hill, Wembley and Watford who want easy parking, predictable Playtomic booking and modern panoramic courts without travelling into central London.
Families and groups gain from the on-site cafe, bar and Barnet FC matchday atmosphere; juniors and beginners get a safe, step-free environment with proper changing rooms, free parking and full disabled access throughout the campus.
It is less suited to players hunting for indoor all-weather guarantees or a dedicated coaching academy with named head coaches. For that, a specialist padel-only club may be a better choice.
As a 7am-to-11pm multi-sport venue with three new courts and a strong 4.3-star Google rating from almost 2,000 reviews, The Hive sits firmly among the better outdoor padel options in north-west London.
