About Rawdon Golf, Lawn Tennis & Padel Club

Rawdon Golf, Lawn Tennis & Padel Club is a golf, tennis and padel club at Buckstone Dr, Rawdon, Leeds LS19 6BB, UK. The two floodlit outdoor padel courts are open to visitors on ClubSpark at £28 to £36 per court per hour.

Rawdon was the first club in the Leeds and Bradford area to install a padel court. The first court opened in Spring 2021 and the second followed in May 2022, so padel sits alongside the tennis courts and golf course as an established part of the club.

The clubhouse has a spacious lounge bar and a patio area where members and guests can enjoy a meal or a drink, along with changing rooms and showers. The Red Kite Restaurant is also part of the club, which makes it easy to turn a game into an evening out.

The padel courts

Both padel courts at Rawdon Golf, Lawn Tennis & Padel Club are outdoor and floodlit, laid with a premium carpet surface. The floodlights switch on automatically for evening bookings, so a game after dark needs no call to the clubhouse and no wait for someone to turn the lights on.

The padel courts share the site with floodlit all-weather hard tennis courts, grass courts, a practice wall and the golf course. That makes Rawdon a multi-sport club rather than a standalone padel centre, and a good fit for players who also play tennis or golf.

Players must bring their own padel rackets and balls. Anyone still building a kit bag can start with our guide to the best padel rackets for beginners, which covers the shapes and weights that suit newer players.

Padel booking and access

Peak, Monday to Friday 4pm to 9pm: £36 for 60 minutes per court, or £9 per person for four players. Weekend players get the off-peak rate all day, which makes Saturday and Sunday the cheapest time for a group to play.

For anything the booking page does not answer, the club can be reached on +44 113 250 6040, and the club website carries details of membership, coaching and the wider club.

Padel programme and social

Padel coaching at Rawdon Golf, Lawn Tennis & Padel Club is led by head coach Jonathan Sowden, who is LTA Level 4 Accredited and a Hello Padel Silver Coach. Sowden works with LTA padel instructors Jack Willis, Nicky Horn and Simon Bickerton.

The weekly coaching programme includes group coaching for improver and intermediate players on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, individual coaching on Tuesday and Thursday, Cardio Padel on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, men’s drills on Monday and Wednesday, and ladies team training.

Intro sessions for newcomers run as beginner group coaching on Saturdays from 9am to 10am. Junior padel coaching for all levels runs on Wednesdays, giving younger players a regular weekly slot with qualified coaches.

Away from coaching, the social side includes Matchplay groups, club nights and social events. For players who want competition, the club runs mini leagues, and men’s and women’s padel teams play in leagues, which gives regular players a clear route from social games into team padel.

Best for

Rawdon Golf, Lawn Tennis & Padel Club suits beginners who want structure. The Saturday morning beginner group and a coaching team led by an LTA Level 4 Accredited head coach make Rawdon a strong place to learn properly rather than by trial and error.

Juniors and their parents: Wednesday junior coaching covers all levels, and the clubhouse bar and patio give parents somewhere comfortable to wait. Weekend players on a budget also do well here, with off-peak pricing all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Players who want more than padel: tennis, golf, a restaurant and a clubhouse are all on one site, and the teams and leagues give committed players something to aim for beyond a weekly booking.
