Skill School HQ

Skill School HQ is an indoor football and padel centre at 8a Campsie Industrial Estate, McLean Road, Eglinton, Derry, BT47 3XX. The site sits just off the A2 between Derry/Londonderry and Limavady, near City of Derry Airport.

That position gives easy reach for players across the North West, from the Waterside and Cityside through to Strabane and the wider Causeway Coast. It is one of only a small handful of dedicated padel venues in Northern Ireland and the closest indoor courts for Derry-based players.

The venue converted part of its established 3G football complex into a dedicated padel area, working with Prism Padel on the court installation. The result is a low-friction, pay-and-play environment where rackets and balls are included in the booking price and casual players can rock up without owning kit. More about the venue at skillschoolhq.com.

The padel courts

Skill School HQ runs three indoor padel courts under the same roof as the football pitches. Two are full-size doubles courts and one is a singles court, which is unusual in Northern Ireland and useful when only two players are available or one player wants a focused, high-volume session.

The doubles courts include a premium panoramic court supplied by Prism Padel, with glass walls that give clear sightlines for spectators and a brighter feel underneath the indoor lighting. Surfaces are synthetic turf to standard padel specification, and the courts are fully covered, so weather is never a factor for booking or play.

Booking and access for padel

Court bookings run through Playtomic, with live rates shown at the booking step. You can book a court on Playtomic or use the in-house booking portal at skill-school-hq.lemonbooking.com. Standard slots are 60 or 90 minutes and rackets and balls are included in the price, so you only need indoor trainers.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 10:00 to 23:00 and Saturday and Sunday 09:00 to 21:00. That mix makes early-morning weekend games and late weekday sessions both viable around work and family schedules.

The venue has free on-site parking across the Campsie Industrial Estate yard, plus changing facilities and a cafeteria for food and drinks before or after play. For queries about court availability, group bookings or private hire, contact the team on +44 28 7181 3512 or via info@skillschoolhq.com.

Programme and social padel

Skill School HQ runs a friendly mix of open play, social sessions and group bookings. The singles court opens the door to one-on-one matches and conditioning work that few NI clubs can offer, alongside doubles play for casual groups.

The team posts regular updates about beginner-friendly slots and community sessions through the venue’s Facebook page and Instagram. The on-site cafe doubles as a hangout for football and padel groups between sessions, with snacks, hot drinks and free WiFi.

Group bookings and corporate hire are welcomed, and the multi-sport setup makes it straightforward to combine padel with five-a-side football for stag dos, birthdays and team away-days under one roof.

Best for padel in Derry

This is a strong fit for players in Derry/Londonderry, Limavady, Strabane and the wider North West who want all-weather indoor padel without trekking to Belfast. Beginners benefit from included kit, a relaxed multi-sport setting and staff used to onboarding football crowds into a new racket sport.

Improvers and competitive players get something rarer in NI: a dedicated singles court alongside doubles play, useful for technical work and serious 1v1 sessions. The venue is less suited to players chasing a full club ecosystem of leagues and ranking events; the focus here is pay-and-play access, friendly groups and a cafe-led social vibe rather than tournament infrastructure.

Skill School HQ runs as a pay-and-play padel venue rather than a dedicated coaching academy. Beginner introductions and group sessions are offered on request through the venue team.
