About Soul Padel Braehead

Soul Padel Braehead is the chain’s fourth UK venue, sitting at Old Govan Rd, Renfrew PA4 8XJ - right beside the Decathlon store at intu Braehead. It is a short hop from the Clyde Tunnel and ten minutes from central Glasgow.

The site adds four covered, panoramic courts to the west of Glasgow under a Fordingbridge canopy structure. The roof shields play from the city’s well-known weather. Regional manager Craig Milne oversees the launch, with the stated aim of building a community-led club rather than a tournament-only facility.

The venue books exclusively through Playtomic and the brand site at soulpadel.co.uk. The Renfrewshire club joins sister venues Soul Padel Stockport, Soul Padel St Helens and the on-campus court at Loughborough University, all opened since 2024 under Soul Padel Ltd.

More than 200 founder members signed up before opening day, so demand from Glasgow’s fast-growing padel scene was clear from the outset. Academy classes are already scheduled into early June, and the chain’s Decathlon partnership next door reinforces the local retail link.

The padel courts

All four courts are roofed, double, panoramic builds, numbered Padel 1 through Padel 4. Soul Padel use GreenSet artificial turf and Fordingbridge canopy structures across the chain, keeping playing conditions consistent through Glasgow’s rain, wind and lower winter temperatures.

The panoramic glass back walls give spectators - and the cafe seating area - a clear sightline across all four courts. Courts are sized to World Padel standard (10m x 20m).

Free parking sits directly outside in the Decathlon-shared retail park lot, with disabled access into the clubhouse. Lockers and changing rooms are on-site, plus a small clubhouse with WiFi for arriving early.

Booking and access

Sessions at Soul Padel Braehead are booked exclusively through Playtomic - download the app, search “Soul Padel Braehead” and pick a slot. The booking window opens daily from 07:00 and the last court slot starts at 22:00, seven days a week.

Live court rates appear at the booking step on Playtomic and follow the chain’s standard peak / off-peak split. The club sits a ten-minute drive from Glasgow city centre via the Clyde Tunnel, with the M8 (Junction 25A/26) and the Renfrew Ferry crossing both within five minutes.

Braehead bus station is a short walk away and serves regular routes from Glasgow, Paisley and Renfrew throughout the day. Shared retail-park parking removes the city-centre tariff issue for car-borne players, and Glasgow Airport sits roughly fifteen minutes away by road.

Programme and social padel

The Braehead programme is built around three Soul Padel pillars: open play through Playtomic, structured “Learn to Play” intro sessions for newcomers, and inclusive community series. Intro to Padel sessions include free racket hire and short coaching blocks, with bookings via the Academy tab on Playtomic.

Soul Sisters women-only sessions and the “What’s That Racket?” junior programme run weekly across the chain. The first Soul Sisters academy class at Braehead is on the schedule for early June, with regular weekly slots opening up on Playtomic thereafter.

Equipment hire (Kuikma rackets and balls) is available at the desk for anyone arriving without kit. The on-site cafe serves coffee, cold drinks and snacks, and the pro shop area stocks essentials through the partnership with Decathlon next door.

Best for

Soul Padel Braehead suits Glasgow players who want covered, dependable padel year-round without trekking into the city centre. Beginners are well-served by the Intro to Padel pathway and free-rental kit, while regulars get four matched panoramic courts and a friendly, community-first feel.

The Decathlon partnership and shared parking make it especially easy for families coming over from the shopping centre, and the M8 access opens the club up to players from Paisley, Renfrew and the west end. Contact info@soulpadel.co.uk or 07707 931 313 for membership and group enquiries.
