MXL Ground

MXL Ground is a semi-indoor tennis and padel club at Jl. Yos Sudarso No.kav 99a, Sunter Jaya, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta 14360. The MXL Ground padel offer is three covered courts sharing one roof with two tennis courts, sitting right on one of North Jakarta’s busiest corridors.

Jalan Yos Sudarso is the main artery running beneath the elevated inner ring toll road that links Tanjung Priok port with Cempaka Putih and central Jakarta, so the club is easy to reach from Sunter, Kelapa Gading and Ancol. Look for it just after the AHM and BYD buildings, before FTL Gym.

The club opened in 2025, arriving in the middle of Jakarta’s padel boom, and has picked up strong early ratings - 4.8 from 134 Google reviews, matched by a 4.8 score on its AYO booking page. Evening slots fill quickly once Sunter’s after-work crowd arrives.

The padel courts

The club’s AYO booking page lists three individually bookable padel courts alongside two tennis courts (Tennis A and Tennis B). MXL describes itself as a semi-indoor venue, which in practice means every court sits under a permanent roof with open sides for natural airflow.

That covered format matters in Jakarta. Play carries on through the wet season and the midday heat, and the roof takes the harsh sun off the glass walls. Reviewers describe the courts as well maintained, with Court 1 often singled out as the pick of the three.

Because tennis and padel share the same building, MXL Ground has a genuine multi-sport feel rather than a padel-only setup. Spectator seating runs alongside the courts, and a ballboy service is listed among the facilities, an unusual touch for a padel venue.

Booking and access

Court booking runs through AYO, the Indonesian sports booking platform, via its Android and iOS app. The venue listing shows sessions from Rp 199,000, with each booking including two 240ml bottles of mineral water. Live slot-by-slot pricing shows inside the app.

Directory listings put typical rates at around Rp 300,000 per court per hour, so budget between those two figures depending on the day and time. The cancellation policy is strict: a booking can be rescheduled once, up to three days beforehand, but there are no cancellations or refunds.

Opening hours are not published on the booking page, so check live availability in the AYO app before travelling. On site there is car and motorcycle parking, which reviewers note can get busy at peak times, plus changing rooms with hot showers, toilets, a prayer room and free WiFi.

Padel programme and social

MXL Ground has quickly become a hub for Jakarta’s mabar scene, the open-play sessions known locally as main bareng. Community hosts run a steady calendar here on AYO and Reclub, from beginner-friendly and first-timer evenings through to intermediate-only intensives capped at six players.

Women’s padel gets a look-in too: the Women on Court series has staged its super mexicano rounds at MXL Ground, and mixed fun meets with small prizes appear most weeks. Recent listed sessions have ranged around Rp 140,000 to 165,000 per player for a two hour block.

That community-led calendar makes it easy to find a game without bringing three friends. On-site extras support the social side: a cafe and resto counter with snacks and drinks, a sports shop, racket rental for newcomers, and seating for whoever is waiting on the next court. There is no published in-house coaching programme at present.

Best for

MXL Ground padel courts suit North Jakarta players first: anyone in Sunter, Kelapa Gading, Ancol or around the port who wants covered courts without crossing town. Beginners are especially well served, thanks to the steady stream of beginner-friendly community sessions and racket hire on site.

It also fits multi-sport households, with tennis and padel bookable side by side under one roof, and social players who like turning up solo to organised games rather than arranging their own four.

It is less suited to players who want open-sky outdoor courts, a formal coaching academy, or flexible booking - the no-refund policy rewards planners. For structured lessons, Jakarta’s dedicated academy clubs remain the better fit, but for covered pay-and-play padel in Sunter, MXL Ground is a strong first call.
