Recess Padel Club

Recess Padel Club is located at 17 Rocklea Drive, Port Melbourne VIC 3207. It sits in the Fishermans Bend industrial precinct, a short drive from the West Gate Freeway and within easy reach of the Citylink tollway and Todd Road.

Opened in April 2026, the club bills itself as Melbourne’s first lifestyle padel venue. The concept blends premium courts with recovery amenities, a gym and a social lounge - all under one roof in a purpose-built warehouse conversion.

Free on-site parking is available, and the venue is well served by bus routes along Williamstown Road. The surrounding area includes cafes, gyms and the nearby Port Melbourne foreshore.

The courts

Recess has five padel courts in total. Four are indoor panoramic courts, and the fifth is an outdoor court. All five feature a signature terracotta playing surface that gives the venue its distinctive look.

The indoor courts are fully floodlit and enclosed within a climate-controlled warehouse space. The panoramic glass walls offer excellent sightlines for spectators watching from the lounge area.

The outdoor court provides an open-air alternative and is also floodlit for evening play. Courts are configured for doubles, though solo players can join open matches to be paired with others at their level.

Booking and access

Courts are available Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and Saturday to Sunday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Bookings can be made through Playtomic or the club’s own booking platform at book.recesspadelclub.com.

Off-peak court hire runs from Monday to Friday between 6:00 AM and 3:00 PM. A 60-minute session costs $100 per court, working out to $25 per player for a full doubles match. A 90-minute slot is $150 per court.

Peak rates apply at all other times, including weekends. A 60-minute peak session costs $120 per court - $30 per player - while 90 minutes is $180. Members receive up to 90 minutes free per day during off-peak and a 25 per cent discount at peak times.

Prepaid packs are also available. A five-session pack costs $190 per player, a ten-session pack is $340, and a twenty-session pack is $620. The Recess Hall Pass at $60 per month offers a flat booking rate of $23 per hour at any time.

Programme and social

The in-house coaching team runs private, semi-private and group sessions for adults. A single private lesson costs $180 for non-members and $160 for members. Packages of four and eight lessons are available at reduced rates.

Semi-private coaching starts at $80 per player for non-members, while group sessions begin at $55 per player. These cater to all levels, from complete beginners to competitive players looking to sharpen their game.

The Padel Academy offers structured coaching for juniors aged five to sixteen across four tiers - Rookies, Challengers, Juniors and Pro-Teens. Academy sessions start from $40 per week for members.

Open matches and social mix-ins let solo players find games without needing to organise a group. Ladies’ morning sessions and regular tournaments round out a busy events calendar. Corporate bookings are also catered for.

Beyond the courts, the venue houses two saunas and two ice baths for post-match recovery. A functional gym area and a dedicated yoga and Pilates studio are included with membership. The juice bar serves healthy options, and luxury changing rooms with lockers complete the facilities.
