The padel courts

The site features a single fully panoramic doubles court built to standard 10m by 20m dimensions for proper Padel Federation match play. The court has a glass back wall and surrounding mesh for unobstructed sightlines, with seating along one side for partners and waiting spectators.

The surface is laid for outdoor play and floodlit, so sessions can run after sunset throughout the long British evenings. The court sits within The Retreat’s grounds, with parkland views on one side and the hotel’s wellness facilities a short walk across the lawns.

Ample on-site parking sits a short walk from the court, and the hotel’s changing rooms, showers, sauna and pool are open to players who book through the Signet Spa membership. Non-members pay £40 per hour and can book up to eight days ahead. Members pay £28 per hour and can secure courts up to thirty days in advance, which makes weekend evening slots much easier to lock in during the summer.

Programme and social

Tactical Gameplay with Coaches runs on Tuesdays from £12, focused on positioning, court craft and shot selection. Competition formats include the Advanced Plus Americano on Wednesday evenings, Advanced Plus AM Matchplay on Thursday mornings, Intermediate Americano on Friday evenings and Advanced Americano on Saturday mornings, each from £15.

The inaugural Courts Cup tournament runs in summer 2026 with Advanced, Intermediate, Ladies and Mixed divisions, a team-based format that aims to bring local clubs and visiting players together over the season.
