Padium Cardiff

Padium Cardiff is the largest padel venue in Wales, opened March 2026 as the brand’s second UK club after the Canary Wharf flagship. Eight indoor AFP panoramic courts on Mondo turf anchor the 35,000 square foot venue at Cardiff Bay Retail Park.

The build pairs the courts with a refined player lounge, the Ace Bar, a pro shop, warm-up areas and a wellness suite featuring a sauna that overlooks the courts plus cold plunge pools.

Sister venue at Padium Canary Wharf (nine indoor AFP courts in zone 2 London).

The courts

Eight indoor AFP panoramic courts on Mondo turf at the Cardiff Bay Retail Park site. Indoor LED lighting through evening play. Roofed for full weather protection across all eight courts. The AFP build standard and Mondo turf surface match the brand’s London Canary Wharf flagship.

Booking and access

Court hire runs £50 to £60 an hour through the Padium booking page. Off-peak sessions at £50, peak weekday evenings and weekend mornings at £60. Pay-and-play is the default; member rates available alongside.

The Cardiff Bay Retail Park setting puts the venue inside reach of central Cardiff, Penarth and the wider South Wales commuter belt with retail-park parking on site.

Programme and social

Beyond the eight courts, the 35,000 square foot venue runs as a destination club: refined player lounge, the Ace Bar for between-game and post-match social, pro shop, warm-up areas and the signature wellness suite with sauna overlooking the courts plus cold plunge pools.

Daily mix-ins, structured social rallies and the in-house coaching programme run through the calendar. Group bookings, corporate events and tournament hosting handled directly.

Best for

Cardiff, Penarth, Newport and the wider South Wales commuter players who want flagship-scale indoor padel paired with destination wellness, league regulars wanting AFP-spec competition courts in their home region, and Padium network regulars combining sessions with the London Canary Wharf flagship. Less suited to budget walk-on play or anyone wanting outdoor courts.

Coaching at Padium Cardiff runs through the in-house coaching team, the same brand standards as the Canary Wharf flagship. Structured group lessons, beginner intros and 1-on-1 sessions across all skill levels. The AFP-spec build supports advanced match-play and tournament-prep coaching. Bookings handled through the Padium booking system alongside court hire.
