Derbyshire Tennis Centre Padel

Derbyshire Tennis Centre is a community-run LTA-affiliated venue that has been serving players for decades. The addition of one outdoor floodlit padel court makes it an accessible entry point for newcomers and casual players looking for budget-friendly padel in Derby.

The courts

One outdoor padel court with floodlighting enables play from early morning through evening. The synthetic surface is well-maintained, and the open-air setting provides a different experience to indoor facilities. Racket rental and equipment hire are available for those without their own kit.

Booking and access

Derbyshire Tennis Centre describes itself as the most affordable padel option in Derby, but it does not publish an hourly rate - check the current price on Playtomic before booking. The venue welcomes members and non-members alike. A private car park with 30 spaces is on-site. The centre includes changing rooms, a lounge, and kitchen facilities for players between matches.

Programme and social

Padel coaching is available through the LTA and local coaches. The wider tennis facility hosts competitive tournaments and social play across all ages and abilities. Vending machines and the lounge area provide refreshments, and the balcony overlooks the indoor tennis courts for spectating.

Best for

Derbyshire Tennis Centre suits budget-conscious players, beginners testing padel for the first time, and those who prefer outdoor play. The multi-sport setting means families can combine a padel session with tennis coaching or casual play on the same visit.
