Thistle Padel | Game4Padel

Thistle Padel | Game4Padel is a Game4Padel-operated padel venue at Thistle Tennis Club, Paties Road / Katesmill Road, Edinburgh EH14 1JF, in the south-west of the city near Colinton. The site joins the wider Game4Padel network - the Andy Murray-backed franchise that installs and operates padel courts at host racket clubs across the UK and Ireland, including the sister Edinburgh site at Barnton Park, plus Dundee, Liverpool, Brighton and beyond. The host-venue model means players get the consistent Game4Padel booking experience and Edinburgh Academy coaching framework on top of an established tennis-club setting.

The courts

The padel courts sit alongside Thistle Tennis Club’s existing tennis facilities, with floodlighting for evening play across the Game4Padel network’s standard operating window. Game4Padel courts across the UK are built to a consistent panoramic specification with synthetic grass surfaces, so the playing feel matches sister sites at Barnton Park and beyond. For exact court count and any covered/uncovered split at this Edinburgh site, the live booking page on Playtomic and MATCHi shows current configuration.

Booking and access

Court hire is bookable through Playtomic and MATCHi - both are Game4Padel’s standard booking channels across the network. Pay-and-play access is the default with no membership required to book. Game4Padel monthly membership starts at £5 and unlocks discounted court rates plus SmartAccess digital gate entry for member convenience. Live rates show at the booking step and typically range £16 to £28 per hour across the Game4Padel UK network depending on time slot, with peak evening slots at the higher end. The EH14 1JF postcode sits on Paties Road just off the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass with on-site parking at Thistle Tennis Club.

Programme and social

Coaching at Thistle Padel runs through the Game4Padel Edinburgh Academy, the same coaching team that delivers programmes at the sister Barnton Park site. The Academy covers structured beginner courses, group lessons and one-to-one bookings for all levels, plus junior pathway sessions for children. Americano-format social mix-ins and friendly tournaments run through the Game4Padel calendar. The integration with Thistle Tennis Club gives players access to the wider clubhouse facilities and a tennis-led racket-sports community alongside the padel offer.

Best for

South-west Edinburgh players in the Colinton corridor who want Game4Padel’s consistent booking experience and structured coaching through the Edinburgh Academy. Suits both pay-and-play casuals and players considering Game4Padel monthly membership for the SmartAccess and discount benefits. Less suited to players wanting a padel-only venue - the host-club setting means tennis is the primary identity and padel sits as a secondary offer.
