Powerleague Watford

Powerleague Watford opened four roofed padel courts in 2026 at Queens’ School, Aldenham Rd, Bushey, Watford WD23 2TY, converting two of the site’s long-running five-a-side football pitches into a covered padel hub on the Watford-Bushey border.

Aldenham Road has quickly become one of the busiest stretches of padel in the country, with David Lloyd, Padel Tree, Padel United North London and Powerleague Watford all clustered within roughly a mile.

Watford Junction, Bushey and Carpenders Park stations all serve the area for visitors from central London, and drivers reach the site easily from the M1 (junction 5) and the A41.

The site combines Powerleague’s established five-a-side football centre with the new padel offer, so the venue has experience handling busy evening bookings, club nights and corporate days. Full details sit on the official Powerleague Watford padel page, with court availability handled through Playtomic.

The padel courts

There are four double padel courts at Powerleague Watford. All four are roofed, all-weather courts with panoramic crystal glass walls and floodlighting, built to standard 20m x 10m doubles dimensions.

The roof keeps games running through British rain and winter weather, so play is not weather-dependent the way uncanopied outdoor sites are. Rackets and balls are available to hire on site for players who do not own kit yet.

The padel courts share the Queens’ School site with Powerleague’s existing 3G football pitches but sit on their own footprint with their own access. The school retains exclusive use during the school day, with public bookings opening from late afternoon on weekdays and morning at the weekend.

Booking and access

Court hire is handled through Playtomic. You can book a padel court at Powerleague Watford on Playtomic in 60 or 90-minute slots, with live rates and availability shown at the booking step. The standard cancellation window is 12 hours before your reservation.

Opening hours run Monday to Thursday from 16:30 to 22:30, Friday from 16:30 to 21:30 and Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 21:00. Weekday slots open after the school day, with weekend mornings best for families and beginners.

The venue is contactable on +44 1923 257400 or by email at watford@powerleague.com for group bookings, coaching enquiries and corporate days. Free on-site parking, disabled access, changing rooms, lockers, WiFi, vending and a licensed bar are all available at the centre.

Programme and social

Powerleague Watford runs a mix of pay-and-play sessions, organised tournaments and structured padel lessons. Tournaments are framed around friendly, short-format matches that encourage community spirit rather than purely competitive play, which suits newer players stepping up from their first sessions.

Academy padel lessons cover beginner, improver and intermediate levels with qualified coaches, focusing on technique, court positioning and confidence. Group lessons start from around 17.50 GBP per player, with private one-to-one and pair coaching also available.

Lessons book through the Academy tab in the Playtomic app, and the pay-and-play model means solo players can join open sessions to find teammates rather than needing a fixed four every time.

Because Watford sits inside the wider Powerleague network alongside sister sites in Mill Hill, Romford, Shoreditch, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Paisley, the centre also handles corporate days, mixed-sport hire and birthday parties combining padel with 5-a-side football.

Best for

Powerleague Watford suits north-west London and south Hertfordshire players who want covered courts, free parking and a one-stop venue that already runs football leagues, kids parties and corporate days. The roof, floodlights and easy car access make it a strong year-round option for evening doubles and weekend family play.

Players based in Bushey, Carpenders Park, Stanmore, Edgware, Pinner and Watford itself will find the site one of the most accessible padel venues in the Aldenham Road cluster, with a familiar Powerleague service model and the comfort of a roofed playing surface in winter.

Powerleague Watford Academy runs beginner, improver and intermediate padel lessons with qualified coaches. Group sessions focus on technique, court positioning, shot selection and match confidence in small-group formats that suit complete newcomers and improving regulars alike. Private one-to-one and pair coaching is also available for players who want targeted feedback on serve, bandeja, vibora or defensive lobs. Lessons book through the Academy tab in the Playtomic app, or by email to watford@powerleague.com for tailored group, junior or corporate sessions.
