About Ribble Valley Padel Hub
Ribble Valley Padel Hub sits inside Ribble Valley Tennis Centre on Edisford Road, Clitheroe, Lancashire BB7 3LA. It is widely credited as the North West’s first indoor padel centre and has helped padel take root across East Lancashire.
The hub is a short drive from the A59 and roughly twenty minutes from junction 31 of the M6, putting Preston, Blackburn and the Ribble Valley villages within easy reach. Booking runs through Playtomic and the Google profile is rated 4.4 from 32 reviews.
The venue operates a no-membership, pay-and-play model that keeps the barrier to entry low for newcomers. Casual visitors and regular pairs can both find a slot without phoning ahead, using Playtomic for live availability, payments and player matching across the week.
The padel courts
Ribble Valley Padel Hub has five indoor padel courts in total: three full-size doubles courts and two dedicated singles courts. The singles courts are individually named Collins White Tiles and Hippo Approved, a nod to local sponsors that gives the venue a distinctive identity.
Court construction is split between traditional wall builds and panoramic glass-end designs, and the indoor environment means weather is never a factor. LED lighting, a level surface and a consistent indoor temperature give a reliable bounce all year round.
Booking padel and access
You can book a court on Playtomic in advance or set up an open match to find partners at your level. Live rates show at the booking step on Playtomic, and cancellation windows are handled inside the app on a court-by-court basis.
Indicative off-peak rates show doubles courts from around £28 for 60 minutes and £42 for 90 minutes. Peak doubles slots run from roughly £32 for 60 minutes and £48 for 90 minutes, which works out at about £8 per player for a 60-minute fourball at peak.
Singles courts are lighter on the wallet, with off-peak slots from about £18 for 60 minutes and peak slots from £20, rising to £27-£30 for 90 minutes. On-site parking is free and there is step-free access into the building.
Opening hours run from 06:00 to midnight, seven days a week. That is unusually generous for a UK padel venue and suits commuters, shift workers and late-night social groups. For court queries, the hub can be reached on 07917 457861.
Padel programme and social
The hub leans heavily on Playtomic’s open matches and level-based matching, which makes it straightforward to find a game even if you arrive without a fixed four. Social mix-ins, ladder play and occasional in-house tournaments give regulars a clear progression path.
The two singles courts open the door to a format that is still rare in the UK, giving regulars a way to train tactically and fit in shorter, sharper sessions. Equipment rental is available on site, including rackets and balls for newcomers, with a vending machine for drinks between matches.
Coaching can be arranged through the wider tennis and padel staff at Ribble Valley Tennis Centre. Details are handled directly through the hub via Playtomic chat or the contact number above - see the coaching tab for the current offer.
Best for padel in Clitheroe
Ribble Valley Padel Hub suits players who want reliable indoor courts, long opening hours and an established Playtomic booking flow. It is a strong fit for Clitheroe locals, visitors exploring the Forest of Bowland and groups travelling in from Preston, Blackburn and Burnley.
It is less suited to players looking for a full bar and restaurant on site, a large multi-court tournament setting, or an outdoor padel court with open-sky play. For everyone else, especially anyone curious about singles padel, this is one of the most accessible indoor venues in the region for year-round play.

Ribble Valley Tennis Centre is a brilliant facility. I’ve loved my time playing padel here, great courts, friendly atmosphere, and well-run sessions. It’s a proper social place to play, and you always come away wanting another game.
We've just started playing Padel and found Ribble Valley great. Easy access and parking. Friendly welcome and inclusive bats and balls added bonus! Also just had lesson with Chris Peet which was excellent and really useful.
Great padel centre, well maintained, reasonable prices and no charge for rackets/balls so great for those wanting to try it out and give it a go.
Reasonably priced compared to other courts, easy to book, and best of all, free equipment hire, so great for casual players
