About Skegness Padel
Skegness Padel is the town’s first dedicated padel centre, set inside a converted 800 square metre grainstore at Simons Yard, Skegness PE24 4RG. The site sits on the edge of town along the A52 towards Wainfleet, just past the new TEC College.
It is about a mile from Skegness seafront and within easy reach of Wainfleet, Burgh le Marsh and the wider East Lindsey coast. Two local families transformed the 70 year old building into a community sports venue, opening to the public on 30 March 2026 after a soft launch weekend.
The official ribbon cutting was led by the Mayor of Skegness, Jimmy Brookes. The site gives Skegness Padel players a smart indoor base for year round play on the Lincolnshire coast, where outdoor sport is often disrupted by sea winds and winter weather.
The conversion preserves the character of the original grainstore while adding a modern playing hall, a licensed bar and a small lounge. Power, lighting and ventilation were redesigned around the courts so the building works as a year round venue rather than a converted shed.
Skegness Padel describes itself as Skegness’s first padel centre and is positioned as a hub for casual players, members and visitors travelling in from across East Lindsey.
The padel courts
Skegness Padel has two indoor Panoramic Pro padel courts, both built to full double specification and listed on Playtomic as Padel 1 and Padel 2. Panoramic glass back walls give clear sightlines from the seating area and remove the corner posts that interrupt play on older court designs.
The courts sit under the converted grainstore roof, which keeps play going through Lincolnshire rain, sea fog and winter wind. Lighting is wired specifically for indoor padel so evening sessions look the same as daytime ones.
The surface is the standard indoor synthetic grass used across UK padel clubs. Equipment rental is available on site for visitors who arrive without a racket, and a small store stocks balls and basic accessories.
Booking and access
Courts open seven days a week from 08:00 to 22:00 and are booked through Playtomic. Live rates on Playtomic show court hire from £36 to £40 per court for 60 minutes, depending on the time of day.
Across four players that works out at roughly £9 to £10 per person. Peak evening and weekend slots sit at the upper end, while weekday daytime and early morning slots are cheapest. You can book a court on Playtomic in the app or in the browser.
Cancellation, refunds and 90 minute slots follow Playtomic’s standard rules and appear at the booking step. Members get discounted court rates, 21 day advance booking and access to members events. Membership is bought monthly or annually through the venue.
For questions about bookings, coaching or memberships, the venue lists the phone number 07754 800 808 and the email info@skegnesspadel.co.uk. Free parking sits directly outside the building, and the site has disabled access and accessible facilities.
Padel programme and social
Skegness Padel runs a programme of coaching sessions, social mix ins and beginner friendly play for the Skegness, Wainfleet and wider East Lindsey community. Coaching covers introductory lessons for first timers as well as ongoing sessions for players who want to develop tactics and shot selection.
The venue runs coaching through its in house padel programme, and current rates and coach details show in the coaching tab on this listing.
The licensed bar and seating area is a core part of the offer. Coffee, soft drinks, alcohol and light snacks are served alongside the courts, so groups can stay on after a match.
The building works as a small community hub as well as a sports venue, with members events sitting alongside drop in bookings. Followers can track sessions and events on Instagram at @skegnesspadel, on Facebook and on TikTok at @skegnesspadel.
Best for
Skegness Padel suits Lincolnshire coast residents and visitors who want a reliable indoor venue, beginners trying padel for the first time, and social groups looking for a bar and seating space after play.
It also suits members who value advance booking and discounted court hire. The two court footprint, late opening and on site bar make it a strong fit for weekend trips and family sessions.
It is less suited to high volume league players who need three or more courts for round robins, or to clubs running large multi court tournaments. With two courts, peak slots can fill quickly, so booking ahead through Playtomic is sensible for evenings and weekends.
