About Powerleague Romford
Powerleague Romford is a four-court indoor padel venue at King George Playing Fields, Eastern Ave W, Romford RM7 7AY.
Powerleague added four covered panoramic padel courts to its King George Playing Fields complex in 2024 after a £750K investment, making this the brand’s first weather-protected London padel site.
Sister venue to Shoreditch (3 open-top courts in zone 1). Romford trades the central location for indoor cover, free parking and a longer guaranteed playing window through winter.
The courts
Four indoor panoramic courts on synthetic grass under permanent cover.
Indoor LED lighting through evening play. The covered build means rain never cancels a session, unlike the open-top sister site at Shoreditch.
Booking and access
Court hire is £40 to £60 per hour through Playtomic. Off-peak weekday 10:00-14:00 slots run at the network’s reduced rate.
Pay-and-play is the default, no membership tier. Peak weekday evenings and weekend mornings book three to seven days ahead; midweek mornings stay open.
Free on-site parking at the King George Playing Fields complex. Romford station (Elizabeth, Crossrail) is a 10-minute drive or short bus ride.
Programme and social
The wider King George Playing Fields complex shares Powerleague’s football pitches, clubhouse and bar with the padel courts, so post-match social runs alongside the chain’s wider community.
Beginner intros, mix-ins and group lessons run through the Playtomic Discover Padel programme. Group bookings and corporate events handled directly through the venue.
Best for
East London and Essex players who want covered indoor padel year-round at chain prices, plus free parking and a clubhouse to wind down in.
Less suited to anyone wanting central-London access or budget walk-on pricing inside zone 1 (sister Shoreditch covers that).
