Levelling class
A levelling class is a Playtomic feature - a coach-led class that resets your Playtomic reliability percentage. The reliability percentage controls how much each match shifts your level. After a levelling class, your reliability drops back to around 50%, so subsequent matches move your level faster. Useful when your level has drifted out of sync with your actual play.
What is a Playtomic levelling class?
A levelling class is a structured session run by a Playtomic-certified coach where players are assessed across drills, rallies and match play. At the end of the session, the coach can manually reset each player’s reliability percentage on Playtomic, accelerating future level changes.
When is a levelling class useful?
When your Playtomic level feels stuck - you have improved noticeably but your level has not moved because the algorithm needs more matches to reflect it. Also useful when your level has drifted high (you played friendlies against stronger players and the algorithm overshot). The class resets the calibration.
How a levelling class works
Typically 60-90 minutes. The coach runs drills to assess shot quality, then organised match play to assess in-game application. At the end, the coach adjusts your Playtomic reliability via the coach portal. New level changes after this point shift faster. Cost varies by market - typically £30-60 per session in the UK.
Coach tip: If your Playtomic level feels wrong, book a levelling class rather than playing more matches. The class fixes calibration faster than another 20 matches will.
Common misconceptions
A levelling class does not directly change your Playtomic level - it resets your reliability percentage so future matches change your level faster. You still need to play matches to move the rating. The class is about calibration, not a shortcut to a new level.
