Playtomic
Playtomic is the dominant European padel booking and matchmaking app, operating an algorithmic 0.0-7.0 player rating. Founded in Spain in 2017, it now powers court bookings, partner matching, and level tracking for millions of players across Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. For most beginners outside North America, Playtomic is the first padel app you will install.
What is Playtomic?
Playtomic is a Spanish-founded booking and matchmaking platform launched in 2017, now the dominant booking app for padel in Europe, Latin America, and increasingly the Middle East. The app handles three jobs at once: court booking through club partner integrations, partner matchmaking with other players at similar levels, and a player level rating refined match by match. For a beginner, it is the simplest single tool for finding courts and people to play with.
What does Playtomic do?
Playtomic connects you to courts via club partner integrations, matches you with other players at similar levels using its algorithmic 0.0-7.0 rating, and lets you book, pay, and track your match history in one app. Open matches let you join a fourth slot at a court near you. Private bookings let you reserve a whole court for your group. Every result you submit feeds back into your level, so the system keeps recalibrating who you should play next.
How does the Playtomic level system work?
The app assigns a level between 0.0 and 7.0 after a few matches, refined by each subsequent result. Wins against higher-rated players push your rating up; losses against lower-rated players push it down. A reliability percentage tracks how confident the system is in your current level. New accounts start unreliable, so early ratings can swing wildly until enough match data is in. The score is independent of any national or world ranking.
Coach tip: Play 10+ matches against varied opponents to calibrate your Playtomic level. After 15-20 rated matches the system settles and the rating becomes a useful match-finding signal.
Common misconceptions
The biggest myth is that a Playtomic level equals an FIP or LTA Padel rating. It does not. The systems are independent and any conversion is approximate at best. A 3.5 on Playtomic is not a 3.5 on MATCHi either. Use the Padeli levels guide for cross-platform comparison rather than trusting a one-to-one mapping.
