About Encourt Padel & Wellness

Encourt Padel & Wellness is an indoor padel and wellness club at Unit GH, Ventura Park, Colney Street, St Albans AL2 2DB, UK. It has seven super panoramic indoor courts, a reformer Pilates studio, a gym and spa for members, and the Bobo & Wild restaurant on site.

The club is open every day from 6am to 11pm, and no membership is required to play. You can book a single court as a pay and play guest, or join a membership plan for cheaper courts, free off-peak play or spa access.

The padel courts

All seven courts at Encourt Padel & Wellness are premium indoor courts with a super panoramic build, which gives players and anyone watching a wide, open view of every rally. Because every court sits under the roof, rain and wind never cancel a booking.

A climate control system keeps the courts playable in complete comfort all year round. That matters at an indoor venue: summer sessions stay cool and winter mornings stay warm, so early and late bookings feel the same.

The venue also has a pro shop for kit, wifi throughout and disabled access. Free private parking is on site, which makes it easy to drive in, play and stay on for food or the spa afterwards.

Booking and access

Every court at Encourt Padel & Wellness is booked on Playtomic, for guests and members alike. Prices are per court and change with the time of day, so off-peak weekday play is the cheapest way onto the glass.

Off-peak, Monday to Friday 6am to 5pm: £30 for 30 minutes, £60 for 60 minutes and £90 for 90 minutes. Peak, Monday to Friday 5pm to 10pm: £40 for 30 minutes, £80 for 60 minutes and £120 for 90 minutes.

Weekends, Saturday and Sunday 6am to 10pm: £40 for 30 minutes, £80 for 60 minutes and £120 for 90 minutes. Late off-peak, every day 10pm to 11pm: £30 for 30 minutes and £60 for 60 minutes.

A peak hour costs from £80 per court, which works out at £20 each when four players split it. If you are new to the app, our guide on how to book a padel court in the UK walks through the steps.

Regular players can choose a membership. Access costs £100 a month and gives 30% off court bookings with unlimited gym and spa. Off-Peak costs £160 a month, makes off-peak court bookings Monday to Friday 6am to 5pm free and takes 30% off other times.

Off-Peak Plus costs £210 a month and adds gym and spa plus weekend evening bookings. Each plan also has a yearly price, and Platinum is invite only. For reception questions, email radlett@encourtpadel.co.uk or visit the Encourt Padel website.

Programme and social

Private lessons at Encourt Padel & Wellness give one to one time with the head coaches: Lee Rossiter, William Buck, Jessica Crowley, Ali Lahrichi and Manish. To arrange a lesson, email coaching.radlett@encourtpadel.co.uk.

Beginner sessions, run as beginner coaching, take new players from first serve to first rally, at their own pace. Kids coaching is built for younger players, on and off court, so families can bring children along for their own sessions.

Adult clinics run levelled sessions and Americanos, played in groups, so you meet players of a similar standard. Club socials cost £5 off-peak and £10 peak at the member rate.

Friendly box leagues run all year, with entry, fixtures and results on Playtomic. Tournaments and competitive club teams add seasonal competition for every level, from newer players to strong club players.

Away from the courts, a dedicated reformer Pilates studio runs on site, with enquiries to pilates.radlett@encourtpadel.co.uk. The gym, with cardio, strength and free weights, plus the sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and cold plunge are members only, through Off-Peak Plus or a wellness add-on at £50 a month.

Bobo & Wild is not a club café but a proper restaurant, open daily 6am to 10pm. It serves all-day brunch until 3pm, wood-fired sourdough pizza and speciality coffee, with a fully licensed bar pouring wine, cocktails and draught beer from midday. For private events, email events@encourtpadel.co.uk.

Best for

Encourt Padel & Wellness suits players who want premium indoor courts with long opening hours, then a sauna, a cold plunge or a pizza afterwards. It works well for groups who treat a booking as a full evening out rather than a quick hour.

Beginners are well served by beginner coaching, levelled clinics and Americanos, while competitive players get box leagues, tournaments and club teams. Our beginner’s guide to padel in the UK covers the basics before your first booking.

I came down to encourt on Sunday for some lunch and was given a tour around the facilities by Emilia at the front desk. She was really attentive and answered all my queries and made me feel very welcome. I look forward to coming back!
