About Proximo Padel
Proximo Padel is a dedicated padel and pickleball facility at 3043 N Knox Ave, Chicago, IL 60641. The club sits on the Northwest Side in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, between Logan Square, Avondale and Portage Park.
The 27,000 square foot space is reachable from Interstate 90/94 (the Kennedy Expressway) and the Northwest Highway corridor. Proximo Padel opened in March 2026 and was co-founded by brothers Alex and Victor Vainberg, who left careers in trading to bring the sport to the Midwest.
The venue is built as a social hub rather than a pure rental court. The reception area opens onto a cafe lounge and a small pro shop, and the playing area is visible from the lobby so non-players can watch matches over a coffee.
The owners describe the club as an urban oasis where sport and community come together. Programming is aimed at growing the game in Chicago alongside an established pickleball offering, under the tagline Play. Connect. Belong.
The site is a converted industrial building close to the Kennedy Expressway and Belmont Avenue. It is reachable by car from Lincoln Park, Wicker Park and the West Loop in about 20 minutes off peak.
Street parking is available in the surrounding blocks, and the Belmont Blue Line station is roughly a mile away for visitors arriving by public transit. More information is available at the Proximo Padel website.
The padel courts
Proximo Padel runs four full size indoor padel courts under a single roof. Ceilings are 40 ft high, which is well above the World Padel Tour minimum of around 24 ft and gives the lob game proper room to breathe.
The space also houses dedicated pickleball courts so the club can serve two racquet sports under one roof. The playing surface is well kept synthetic turf with sand infill, the standard for international padel competition.
Courts use non glare ring lighting designed to keep the ball clearly visible during fast exchanges and overhead shots. The enclosed glass walls are full international specification, so rebounds play true and the wall game is a real part of strategy.
The whole facility is climate controlled, which means play is comfortable through Chicago winters and humid summers alike. There is also a viewing zone in the lobby for spectators, friends and family.
Booking padel and access
Padel court bookings run in 90 minute slots. A peak time padel reservation is 170 dollars per court and an off peak slot is 150 dollars per court, which works out at 42.50 dollars per person at peak and 37.50 dollars per person off peak for a doubles match.
Pickleball is sold separately in 60 minute slots at 65 dollars peak and 50 dollars off peak. A 220 dollar gameplay credit pack is available for 200 dollars, giving a small bonus for prepaying upfront.
Memberships are 120 dollars per month or 1320 dollars annually and include a 25 percent discount on all gameplay, priority access during peak windows and member only events. Rackets and balls are available to rent on site for beginners.
Reservations are made through the venue’s own platform at book.proximopadel.com, not on Playtomic. Contact details are (312) 858-9021 and hello@proximopadel.com for membership, private events and corporate enquiries.
Programme and social padel
The club runs a full weekly schedule of clinics at 35 dollars per person for a one hour session and open play sessions at 42 dollars per person for two hours. A combined Clinics plus Open Play package is billed at 60 dollars for two hours.
Sessions are level graded so newer players are matched with peers, and the open play model rotates partners every few games to keep things social. This is the easiest way for new arrivals to get on court and meet other players quickly.
Summer leagues, americano style mixers and themed evening events run on a rolling basis and are announced on the club’s Instagram feed at @proximopadel. A junior pathway is in development as part of the team’s stated mission to grow padel in Chicago.
Coaching is delivered in house and structured around clinics, private lessons and the combined clinic plus open play format - see the coaching tab for tiers and pricing. The cafe lounge doubles as a parent waiting space during after school clinics.
Best for
Proximo Padel suits Chicagoland players who want a year round indoor padel club with a strong social programme, plus pickleball under the same roof. It is a strong fit for complete beginners thanks to the clinic, open play and rental racquet model.
Intermediate players will find league play, americanos and a community to plug into. Visitors and travelling players are welcome on a pay and play basis without a membership, and the booking site allows guest checkout.
It is less suited to players hunting for the lowest possible peak court rate in the city, or to anyone wanting outdoor seasonal play. With sister sites announced for Northbrook and Goose Island, this is positioned as the flagship of a small Midwest network.
