We started from every Asics shoe in our Shoe Finder data on 27 October 2026: 21 listings across 13 models at Padel Market. We then weighed what each shoe is built for, what the retailer and Asics say about it, the price and how many sizes the UK shop had in stock.

These are our seven picks in order, with what each shoe is for and who should skip it.

1. Asics Sonicsmash FF, best overall

The Sonicsmash FF is the Asics padel shoe we would point most club players to first. Asics released it on 1 December 2025 and describes it as designed for the offensive player seeking enhanced agility, crafted using insights from Coki Nieto.

It pairs a FLYTEFOAM midsole with SPEEDTRUSS for quick acceleration, and the outsole has a herringbone pattern with X-GROOVE for flexibility and grip, according to Asics and Padel Market. Padel Market lists the women’s version for intermediate and advanced players.

The blue and green men’s pair was £95.99 in 10 EU sizes from 40 to 46. The green Coki Nieto edition was the same price in 8 sizes. The women’s white pair was also £95.99, in EU 37, 39, 39.5, 41.5.

Skip it if: you mostly defend from the back and want the firmest hold. The Gel-Resolution X Clay below suits that better.

2. Asics Gel-Resolution X Clay, best for stability

The Gel-Resolution X Clay is the pick for players who build points from the baseline and want a shoe that holds the foot firmly. Padel Market lists it for a control style of play from the back of the court.

It has GEL in the forefoot, an FF BLAST PLUS ECO midsole, DYNAWALL support that now runs into the heel, and DYNALACING to keep the foot in place. The herringbone outsole uses AHARPLUS rubber, with PGUARD to reinforce the inner area.

The white and green pair was £115.99, though only EU 42, 42.5, 43.5, 46.5 were in stock in the UK. The blue FW26 colourway cost more at £139.99 but had 10 sizes. Skip it if: you want the lightest shoe in the range. This one is built for support.

3. Asics Solution Speed FF 4 Clay, best for speed

The Solution Speed FF 4 Clay is for players whose game depends on moving quickly. Padel Market lists it for a fast, dynamic style.

It uses SPEEDTRUSS for torsional stability when you change direction, a FLYTEFOAM midsole, and a PRECISION SOLE with ASICSGRIP in a herringbone pattern. PU tabs around the eyelets help protect the laces, according to the listing.

It had the best size run of any Asics shoe in our data. The white and purple pair was £119.99 in 11 EU sizes from 40 to 46.5, and the green FW26 version was £139.99 in the same sizes.

Skip it if: comfort matters more to you than speed. The Gel-Challenger 15 Padel adds GEL cushioning and costs less.

4. Asics Gel-Challenger 15 Padel, best all-rounder

The Gel-Challenger 15 Padel is a stable, padel-specific shoe at a lower price than the top three. It is made for the side-to-side movement padel asks for.

Padel Market lists WINGWALL for stability in lateral movements, DYNALACING for fit, GEL cushioning, and a herringbone sole with PGUARD and AHARPLUS rubber for wear.

The white and blue pair was £86.99 in EU 40, 40.5, 41.5, 42, 43.5. A yellow limited edition was £95.99 in EU 43.5, 44.5 only.

Skip it if: you take EU 44 or larger. Only the yellow limited edition had EU 44.5, and nothing above that.

5. Asics Gel-Dedicate 8 Padel, best budget pick

The Gel-Dedicate 8 Padel is the Asics shoe we suggest for beginners. Padel Market lists it for beginner and intermediate players.

It has GEL in the midsole, TRUSSTIC with a wraparound sole for stability, synthetic leather overlays on the upper and a herringbone sole.

All four colourways were £55.99. Sizes were patchy for men: the white pair came in EU 40, 43.5, 46.5 and the blue and orange pair in EU 40, 40.5. Women had more choice, with the pink pair in EU 37.5, 38, 39, 39.5, 40, 40.5, 41.5 and the white pair in EU 37.5, 39.5, 40, 40.5, 41.5.

Skip it if: you already play several times a week. One of the shoes above will give you more support.

6. Asics Gel-Challenger 14 Padel W, best women’s support

The Gel-Challenger 14 Padel W is the women’s pick for players who want a firmer, more supportive shoe. Padel Market lists it for intermediate and advanced players.

It is the SS24 model, so it is older than the Gel-Challenger 15, but it has WINGWALL, GEL cushioning, PGUARD and AHARPLUS, on a sole the listing calls Padel / All Court. The black pair was £75.99 in EU 37, 37.5, 38, 39, 40.5, 41.5.

Skip it if: you want the newest model. The women’s Sonicsmash FF is the 2026 shoe.

7. Asics Gel Game 9 Padel W, best for women starting out

The Gel Game 9 Padel W is a light, cheaper women’s shoe for players in their first year or two. Padel Market lists it for beginner and intermediate players.

It has GEL with an EVA midsole, an open mesh upper for ventilation and a herringbone sole. The mint and white pair was £55.99 in EU 37, 37.5, 38, 39.5, 40.5, 41.5. Men looking for a similar price can try the Gel Game FF Padel at £64.99, in EU 40, 41.5, 43.5.

Skip it if: you want more structure. The Gel-Challenger 14 Padel W is the firmer choice.

Can you play padel in Asics Clay shoes?

Yes, Asics Clay shoes work for padel as long as the sole is herringbone. Asics sells some models as Padel editions and others as Clay editions, which are built for clay courts.

Padel Market sells both as padel shoes and lists a Herringbone / Clay sole on the Clay models we picked. One Clay model to check closely is the Game FF Clay/OC W. Padel Market lists a Clay / Omni sole on it, which is a different tread from the herringbone shoes above.
