Northampton County Lawn Tennis & Padel Club

Northampton County Lawn Tennis & Padel Club is a long-established multi-sport club at 54B Church Way, Weston Favell, Northampton NN3 3BX, set across a three-acre site a short drive from the A45 and the A4500 into town centre.

The club has been part of Northampton’s racket scene since the late 19th century and added a single floodlit padel court alongside its eight tennis courts. A planning application submitted in September 2025 proposes two further padel courts to bring the total to three. More on the wider club is on the official ClubSpark page.

The padel courts

The club currently runs one all-weather padel court built to standard doubles dimensions, with panoramic glass back walls and floodlights for evening play. The booking platform lists it as an outdoor all-weather surface, suitable across the British seasons given the well-drained set-up.

A second and third padel court are in the pipeline subject to planning, which will widen mix-in capacity at peak times. The padel court sits within a Tennis Clubmark accredited venue with a licensed clubhouse, private parking and changing facilities shared with tennis.

Alongside padel, the venue maintains eight tennis courts: two floodlit artificial clay, four floodlit artificial grass, two floodlit macadam hard and three grass courts for the summer season, plus a free-to-use ball machine for members.

Booking padel and access

Padel bookings run through Playtomic, with the club’s tenant page showing live availability. You can book a court on Playtomic in 60 or 90 minute slots, with live rates shown at the booking step before payment.

Members of the club enjoy free court bookings, while non-members can book the padel court up to three days in advance at the standard pay-and-play rate. The club operates 08:00 to 22:00 Monday to Saturday and 09:30 to 22:00 on Sunday, with the floodlights extending winter availability.

The clubhouse postcode NN3 3BX feeds straight into satnav and the venue sits roughly two miles from Northampton town centre with private onsite parking. The club manager can be reached on +44 7918 844185 or by email at ncltcclubmanager@gmail.com.

Padel programme and social

As a community-rooted LTA Clubmark venue, the social calendar covers both junior and adult activity across racket sports. The clubhouse hosts the annual NCLTC Beer Festival in May and runs weekday bar nights on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7pm.

Saturday afternoons see the bar open from 4pm, which doubles as a natural post-match meeting point for padel and tennis members alike. Coaching is co-ordinated through the club’s coaching team and can be reached at coaching@ncltc.co.uk - see the coaching tab for current padel tiers.

As padel capacity grows with the planned new courts, mix-in sessions and informal round-robins are expected to expand alongside the existing tennis programme, with juniors catered for through the wider club coaching pathway.

Best for padel in Northampton

This is a strong fit for Northampton residents who want a friendly, established members’ club with a single padel court for casual and after-work play. It particularly suits players already in a tennis routine who want to layer padel into their week.

The licensed bar, clubhouse atmosphere and Tennis Clubmark accreditation make it suitable for families and juniors as well as adults. It is less suited to players seeking back-to-back padel sessions across multiple courts or large group bookings.

Until the planned expansion to three padel courts lands, peak demand on the single court means booking ahead is advisable, especially for floodlit evening slots after work. Players after a high-volume, dedicated padel hub may prefer a multi-court facility elsewhere in town, but for a relaxed members’ setting with strong racket-sport heritage the County Club is a comfortable fit.
