ESL Padel

ESL Padel is a new padel facility at 2015 Birch Road, Suite 3002, Chula Vista, CA 91915. It sits inside the Otay Ranch Town Center retail complex in south San Diego County.

The venue opened in late 2025 with a clear mission - introduce padel to the U.S. West Coast and grow a serious community across Chula Vista and the broader San Diego region.

The site is easy to reach from Interstate 805 and Interstate 5 via Olympic Parkway and Eastlake Parkway, and parking is free in the surrounding Otay Ranch Town Center lots.

The ownership group is affiliated with the Federacion Mexicana de Padel and has competed across Mexico, Spain and the Netherlands. That shapes the bilingual English and Spanish service on court and at the front desk.

Walk-up players are welcome when courts are open, but bookings via Playtomic are the cleanest route on peak evenings. Full policies live on the ESL Padel website, and the venue keeps live court availability and last-minute openings updated through the Playtomic app and Instagram.

The padel courts

ESL Padel has three new panoramic-style padel courts. All three are outdoor doubles courts laid with high-grade synthetic turf, tempered glass walls and anti-collision systems. Each court carries an International Tennis Federation certificate and meets the build standards used at amateur and professional level.

The panoramic format strips the metal posts out of the side walls, so spectators and players in adjacent courts get a clean view across the playing surface. Floodlighting runs to late evening, which is why the venue can sell court time right through to 11pm, seven days a week.

Booking and access for padel

Court rentals are flat per-court rather than per-player. A 90 minute booking is $80 per court (about $20 per person with four players) and 120 minutes is $107 per court (about $26.75 per person). Racket hire is $5 per racket and a can of three balls is $9. Lessons are priced separately - see the coaching tab.

Opening hours are Monday to Sunday, 8:00am to 11:00pm. The fastest way to reserve is the Playtomic app, and walk-ins are accepted when slots are open. Phone and WhatsApp reservations also work on (858) 331-4510.

Cancellations need 24 hours notice for a refund or credit. There is a weather exception - if conditions disrupt play, management notifies players around one hour before the start and the booking is cancelled without penalty.

Programme and social padel

The venue runs scheduled group classes and one-to-one lessons aimed at first-timers, improvers and tournament-level players. ESL Padel also offers padel coaching through its in-house team - see the coaching tab for full pricing tiers and inclusions.

Because the operators are tournament-tested players with Federacion Mexicana de Padel ties, the venue acts as an early hub for organised San Diego County padel. The team runs club mix-ins, ladder play and pickup-style social sessions across the week, with announcements posted on Playtomic.

Social activity is announced through the Playtomic club page and the venue Instagram @eslpadel. Bilingual coaching in English and Spanish is standard, which suits the cross-border player base coming up from Tijuana and across San Diego.

Best for

ESL Padel suits San Diego County players who want a serious panoramic court setup without driving to LA or Orange County. The free parking, on-site restaurant options, late 11pm closing and racket hire make it an easy first venue for newcomers.

It is less suited to players who need indoor courts in heavy rain, members-only clubs, or full racquet-club amenities such as gym, sauna and pool - this is a focused padel-first facility with three courts, food and drink nearby, and a coaching team rather than a multi-sport complex.

ESL Padel runs in-house coaching with bilingual English and Spanish instructors, including coaches with tournament experience and ties to the Federacion Mexicana de Padel. Sessions cover beginners, improvers and competitive players.
